Pick-up password & ID
Parents need to provide the password they chose during registration in order to pick up their kids. If no password is provided or the password is incorrect, a valid piece of government ID matching a name on the registration form will be required to check out the camper. If they cannot provide the password or ID, we will not let your child go home with them. This is a safety policy we take very seriously and make no exceptions to.
Extended Care: the 7-to-6 secret weapon
Standard pickup is 4:00 PM. Extended Care keeps your camper on-site until 5:30 PM (and until 6:00 PM at extended-hours locations: Beaconsfield, Laval, Rosemère, Brossard).
No screens, no structured pressure. Just outdoor games, board games, drawing, and free play with friends. The parents who add it tend to never take it off.

Sun safety
We encourage parents to apply sunscreen on their children prior to arriving at camp, and to always pack lots of water. We also recommend a hat with a sun visor. Throughout the day we plan many water breaks and sun breaks to reapply sunscreen and take a break from the summer heat. If your child will need help with sunscreen, please send a spray instead of a cream for extra precaution.
First aid
Our number one priority is creating a fun and safe environment for your child. Every staff member on site is trained in first aid and CPR to ensure that every bump and scratch is properly cared for.
Toys & electronics
We understand that sometimes a comfort item can make all the difference for a child adjusting to camp life. If your child needs to bring a specific item for comfort, we will do our best to accommodate. Generally, campers are discouraged from bringing toys and electronics from home. We are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged belongings brought to camp. Any toy or item that encourages or alludes to violence (toy guns, swords, slingshots) will be immediately confiscated and returned to the parents at end of day.
A typical day at camp
Operating hours can vary by location, see your location section above for your specific times.
7:30 – 9:00 AM
During Early Care, campers settle in with fun, supervised gym activities as they prepare for the day. Our team checks them in, organizes their belongings, and engages them in games until camp starts at 9 AM.
9:00 – 10:15 AM
Block 1. The fun begins. Campers join their age groups to connect with counselors and friends. Mondays start with icebreakers and team-building games; the rest of the week features indoor and outdoor activities tailored to their group and theme.
10:15 – 10:30 AM
Refuel time. Campers hydrate, snack, and reapply sunscreen before jumping back into activities.
10:30 – 11:45 AM
STA block. 75 minutes of campers exploring their passions and trying something new. Juniors rotate through new STAs every day, Youth dive deeper into the one they chose for the week, Leadership campers help guide activities, and CITs practice mentoring younger campers.
11:45 – 12:45 PM
Lunch and free play. Campers enjoy lunch from home or the hot lunch program, followed by 30 minutes of Choice Time to relax and play. Juniors can opt for nap time to recharge for the afternoon.
12:45 – 2:00 PM
Age-appropriate sports, creative arts, team games, and inspiring guest speakers, designed to mix learning, adventure, and teamwork.
2:00 – 3:15 PM
Full of surprises. Water balloon tosses, splash relays, camp songs, skit performances, or program-specific fun like leadership debates and CIT fundraiser planning.
3:15 – 3:30 PM
Time to recharge. Smoothies and a second snack before wrapping up the day.
3:30 – 4:00 PM
Wrap-up. Campers gather belongings, share stories, and a management team member greets you for a smooth check-out.
4:00 – 5:30 PM
Extended Care. Extra time with friends in a relaxed setting, extra gym, group games, or just hanging out.

Three-strike policy
To ensure the well-being of every camper and staff member, Laurus follows a 3-strike policy for verbal and physical behaviors that negatively affect others. This includes bullying, inappropriate behavior toward other campers or staff, or any action that creates an unsafe environment.
Strike 1
The child receives a verbal warning from one of our counselors.
Strike 2
The child is sent to the office to speak with the Location Manager, who gives a verbal warning to the parents.
Strike 3
The child is sent to the office and the Location Manager gives written notice to the parents, advising that this is the final warning before expulsion from Laurus Summer Camp.
A report is filled out by the witnessing staff and the Location Manager for each strike. Reports are added to the child's file.
